  I&#39;ve been playing bass for about 40 years (old, huh?). Up until a few years ago, I played an 80s StingRay exclusively. These days I play mostly a Carvin
  all Koa four string and a Fender Precision Lyte. The Carvin is sweet with a great neck, and the Fender growls more with a faster neck. Of course... ]]>

			<description><![CDATA[ Hi Bud! Thanks for joining the forum! Welcome. I&#39;d say that it doesn&#39;t hurt to try restringing it the way you want. You could just get a set of 6
string bass strings and try it out. I&#39;d be curious to know if you&#39;d have to really re-set up the bass get the right tension and intonation. Let me know
how it works. I&#39;ve never like 5 string basses but one of my students brought in a 5 string Music Man and I had to admit it was pretty cool! I&#39;d rather
go lower than higher so... ]]></description>
